Withdrawal of concessionary VAT treatment from January 2012
HMRC have announced the withdrawal of some concessionary treatment that has been permitted in the holiday park sector. Some of the changes announced will result in more VAT being collected so it is most important to ensure familiarity with the changes being made and what their effect will be. Whilst the changes will not take effect until January 2012, they concern: The charge of non-domestic Rates The VAT treatment of water and sewerage Water and Sewerage Currently all water and sewerage charges are at VAT exempt (0%), however HMRC will change this to the standard rate VAT, currently at 20%, to all non-metered water consumption and sewerage charges. Rates Currently Rates are outside the scope of VAT, but once this concession is withdrawn next year, the Rates will be liable to VAT at the standard rate (currently at 20%). Whilst these changes outlined above do not come into effect until January 2012, we wanted you to be fully informed of these changes.
We have been very busy this year installing the latest green technologies. With the extension finished all the heaters in the Tow Bar are air to air conditioning units meaning that in the cooler months they provide heat and in the height of Summer they can act as air conditioning units meaning they will cool you down. Not only that but they will save two thirds of electricity, meaning lower energy bills for us. Also, the hot water system for the bar, showers and disabled wet room will be heated by the power of the sun, thus saving us energy and reducing our carbon footprint. If you would like access to the disabled facilities please call in the Reception. Access is via a key card system so you can use the wet room anytime 24 hours a day.A greener future...
