We have been making a few improvements to the park this year. You may have noticed a new amenity area near the front of the park. We hope this will be a great facility for those wishing to have a BBQ with friends or relax in the sunshine with a good book. As the area is sunken into the ground it should become a sun trap, away from the wind and planted with sweet smelling herbs and grasses. The Tow Bar has also seen changes ranging from a new entrance to a new DJ stand. The footbridge at the front of the park and widening of the existing bridge will aid pedestrians and motorists as well as updating the railings with a splash of Holivans blue!
We have tried to keep our Rates/Water etc Charges to a minimum while we are all experiencing difficult times but as previously explained the government has put 20% VAT on all water/rates etc plus an increase in Landfill Tax has seen the total sum increase significantly. There is also a proposal for a 20% VAT increase on all new and second-hand caravans from October. This charge is completely out of our control. The caravan park industry is trying to lobby against this proposed change, but the outcome is not yet known. Sign the petition at http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/32781 to stop the VAT on caravans, every signature counts!
In June the nation will be celebrating the Jubilee of the Queen, so we will be hosting a special Jubilee party, plans are now being formulated for the celebration, plus with the Olympic Games starting not soon after it should be an eventful season, so watch this space!!!
